Schloss Weikersheim Wedding

As the new winter semester had started, we all met for the first time on a Tuesday night with Campus (Connect in Würzburg).
Little did I guess that the same night two lives were changed. From the first glance & sentence he was hooked. He charmingly persisted to keep the conversation coming and somehow the they chatted late after all had left. Just from the first meeting nothing was the same anymore.

Then I received the most charming mail in my inbox & decided to travel to Würzburg to meet  them in person. From the first conversation to the last line of the wedding party I felt the appreciation of my photography like seldom before. You are such a dream to be around and to photograph! When you mentioned that portraits are the most important images I could not believe my luck & silently had a cupcake party in my head over the locations & day planning you had spread before me.

Summer Wedding in Mössingen

One of the things I loved best about their wedding was the deep thought & loving details the bride had put into this day. She has a heart for planning & was literally able to explain to me how to meet her & her groom in the middle of a hilly field of truly nowhere.
I mean this kind of place where street names end and you are just in the outback.

The quiet morning as a back drop, we had our gorgeous first look.
Let me tell you, this girl, (oh my!) knows how to find the dreamy bits of nature. I just loved where we were!

Golf Club Domäne - Summer Wedding

They had peeked in for our studio opening & while touring our beloved creative harbour shared that they recently got engaged.
Sweetness radiated from her eyes, as they shared about their wedding, & I had a wonderful feeling.

Their day unfolded beautifully as an almost all-day outdoor affair. With a ceremony held in a clearing on the golf club. A dreamy summer wedding with chunks of good light, wonderful laughter and a sunset to remember.

Winter Wedding in Jena, Thüringen

It started as a quiet day. With the first expectant look out of the window. Checking whether the snow was heavy or light. The streets free of ice. You see, this wonderful wedding day started in a fortress on a hill not far from my first home.

I just happily loved each and every single moment of this day! The frosting on each tree, the lanes leading up the hills, the jaw-dropping elegant bride, their happy faces during the first dance, all the friends and family assembled.

Golden Woods Wedding

It was pouring down so hard, that I decided to camp out in the car the entire hour before the ceremony would begin.
I had just checked out the fields & wood near by & jogged back to the tiny vehicle for shelter.

I knew how fond both the bride & groom were of outdoor photos & check the rain radar app for the third time in sixty minutes.
All the way through the emotion-overflowing vows the rain hammered on the roof of the top floor city hall.

Just after those most wonderful words had been pronounced and all the dearest been held close, the sky timidly cleared the way & we began shooting in a damp, soaked, perfect wood. I mean think magical with fairy dust on every tree.

Greenhouse Wedding Stuttgart

It was uncommonly deserted at the castle & I had asked the bride again if she wanted to continue shooting. You see, it was three degree on this cloudy morning & I was afraid for her arriving with frozen feet at her ceremony. She smiled and we continued. Dear Marion & Daniel, I admired your wish to get those portraits! And to be quite frank it was totally worth the cold everything! These images turned out to be a total dream in their quiet, charming, fall kind of way! I love truly them!

Wedding Shooting with Katharina & Andy

We met at an advanced English Grammar class. Heck that one did not work out for me... as the careful reader will have already noticed.
Then again, some things work out in different ways.
For example this lovely lady getting engaged before the last years summer was out.

Vine Lover´s Castle Wedding

There is no better place for vine aficionados to get married, but a castle surrounded by plenty of vine. It was the sweetest day as the couple laid eyes on each other for the first time in a tiny village church down the valley. Joy spilled over contagiously.

Romantic Outdoor Wedding - Wanda & Markus

It started out as a rainy day and despite the thick clouds this incredible couple decided to set up the chairs on the field behind the romantic mill. For the first look we met under a broad roof between the hen house and the main house. I just love this well curated place. Every corner you turn is utterly photogenic. And this day? My couple was a dream to be around. They were full of joy and laughter. From the first to the last moment.

Wedding Tamara & Nico

The day we met was just lovely. We laughed a lot and she especially as they told their story of quietly looking at each other for semester after semester till finally in their last week at the university Nico summoned the courage to speak to her. It was the sweetest story and I think I fell in love with them that day. To trump all this they got engaged in Bolzano where I once have studied. You can image we had plenty to share.

Tamara enchanted me with her classy yet modern style. Her dress is a special design by her and a dress maker from Munich. Oh Gosh! And then there are those portraits where she reminds me of Audrey Hepburn. But see it for yourself!

Wedding Anna & Chris

Honestly, I am at a loss for words about where to begin. This is at the same time the closing and the beginning of a new chapter. Maybe you need to know one thing about Anna & I... we where roomies for the last half year and I had never have anybody, no I mean it, grow so close and steady to my heart as this girl did! Where shared are lives and our joys... and all the quiet, crazy moments in-between. With the big day drawing nearer we brainstormed endless ideas & options about how to let this day unfold. And at the same time middle of August came, not quite daring to talk about moving apart but still looking forward to the rest of all the goodness. I have seen Anna & Chris on the every day, quiet, not glamorous and just normal days and I love the way they love each other. How he makes her crazy chuckle and how she makes him write songs. I remember the day we went swimming in the river and he held her in his arms, you know, "to keep the fish away"... and how they scream-laughed all the way through. The good, honest kind of belly laugh.

In the early hours on that special day I went to meet with Anna extra early. Before the wedding bustle swept through the day... to have some tranquil moments and I was especially honoured to have been asked to come, because as she said, I carry peacefulness...
and then for the first time I had a bridesmaids shooting. It was a bliss! Those girls stopped traffic, I tell you! We were in the park in Baden-Baden and they did their crazy flirting with my camera, as one driver going past our lawn actually hit a traffic sign! No kidding!
We all laughed our way through this day. This couple is so full of radiant joy that you can hardly help yourself but to be joyous with them.

Wedding Nadine & Florian

For some reason I just knew this would be an extra special day and I grinned in happy anticipation on the whole drive to the location.
I was to meet the couple at Schloss Neuburg an der Kammel and take pictures of them getting ready. Arriving at the castle I drove past deer grazing peacefully on a meadow and then up a tree lined, cobble stoned alley. As I walked through the gates & gardens and finally into the castle it took my breath away. This place was charming in each detail of each room. Switching between the bridal suite and the gentleman's room I was able to photography both of them getting ready with each of their dear ones. It was such a joy  to document their wonderful style. Nadine´s elegance reminded me just ever so slightly of Grace Kelly. She looked absolutely stunning as she slipped into her off-the shoulders, intricately embroidered dress.
On my way home, I was still smiling to myself, the scent of lavender from the gardens still fresh in my memory. It was truly a perfect day!

Wedding Alisa & Felix

A most gorgeous day many Saturdays past in the early summer. One of my first weddings to shoot in the very heart of Stuttgart. Once more surprised by the hidden beauty of the city as well as this beautiful couple.
Thank you for asking me along and entrusting me with the honour of documenting your day.

Married Marta & Binh

As Marta contacted me I was so very glad my calendar held on open spot on this specific Saturday. You see, it was four days to their wedding, with their original photographer being taken ill I was able to have my first “fill-in” wedding.  The nervousness of not having met them in person was wiped away the very second we met and I was welcomed with warmth into their special day. Their ceremony was held in the midst of many friends and relations from all over Europe & Asia.

Best Way to End a Wedding Day - Christina & Jacob Part II

For me, as the photographer, an excellent wedding day ends with a sunset session. And when there is a sunset like this one, unexpected, after heavy rain and just splendid... well, I´m in heaven.
As I mentioned in Part I of Christina & Jacob´s wedding, this day was full of surprises.
The time which this wonderful couple made for me, just as the light was right, was one of them.
An equally outstanding but totally different surprise waited for all the guests as we returned to the tent.

Married

They met during a cultural exchange between Belarus and Germany. What was a brief encounter turned into a second exchange and this eventually developed into a friendship. Across borders and languages, they found their own language of staying in touch, being close and dreaming up plans. One of them came true on this cold April day at one of my favorite places in Stuttgart.  Which made it not only a day of their dreams but also of mine.

The castle Solitude is truly the ultimate romantic location I can dream of and even on a very chilly Saturday you guys filled it with warm laughter. Thank you for joking so freely, for laughing and giggling along.
Dear Alena & Ingo-Felix, never before have I laughed so much during a client meeting than with you!!
Thank you for making me falling in love with what I do even more!!
You guys are great!
