Married: Sarah & Seppi ~ A Horse Wedding in the woods ~ Part I

Where to begin? Well maybe with the first thing that popped into my head as Sarah told me about her engagement and about plans and eyes spilling over with joy...  some months back at our kitchen table. I had my knees pulled up on our kitchen bench and goose bumps just did not stop coming as she told me about horses, fields and summer. "Three daughters married." as exclaimed Mrs Bennet to Mr Bennet at the end of Pride and Prejudice. Yes this was the line which came to my mind. Just that in my case it´s not my daughters but my dear roomies! What sweet joy was I able to share into? Not just one day or one week, but all the months prior. The joy of knowing that two people very dear to me are about to tie the knot.

It was Friday at lunch. We had just giggled over the last joke and munched down some of our thai food, as Conny mentioned this one big fine tree. She had seen it on her way into the city. Sitting on one very green lawn surrounded by just green trees. A super magnificent yellow autumn beauty. As soon as she mentioned it, it sounded like the most perfect place to end our session. We finished our delish rice and strolled through some narrow streets before heading to the park. Oh my heart could not have asked for a better place, a better tree, or better light. It was perfection topped off with a very gorgeous Conny.

Maybe I went a little wild, laughed and galloped (I think running is lame) around her like crazy… till a nearing haymaking machinery (yes) forced me to let Conny know of the vehicle. And she thought I made a joke.

Sunset with Snow

This is a very quiet time of the year, even more so with the winter, snow, cold, surprise in Tuscany. Therefore I have some quiet sunset with Snow pictures and warm greetings from my Tuscan just semi warm kitchen ;-).

During the quiet hour.

I love strolls around the countryside and if there is one thing I miss from Germany that would be it. All the nice, full, green landscapes. Since Siena is more or less a middle age town, there are just very view nice green places to be found within the wall. Yes, you read right, within the wall. We have a wall all around town and I have the privilege to live within these walls. So happy. ;-)
So here are some evening impressions from a walk outside the wall.

Während einer ruhigen Stunde.
Ich liebe Spaziergänge im Grünen, auf dem Land. Wenn es etwas gibt was ich tatsächlich von Deutschland vermisse, dann die grünen, saftigen Flächen der Natur. Da Siena mehr oder weniger eine Mittelalterliche Stadt, findet man kaum Grünflächen innerhalb der Mauer. Ja ganz recht, innerhalb der Mauer. Die gesamte Innenstadt ist von einer riesigen Stadtmauer umgeben und ich habe das Privileg innerhalb der Mauer zu wohnen. ;-)
Hier sind einige Eindrücke von einem Dämmerungsspaziergang außerhalb der Mauer.

Today is another beautiful Sunday in Tuscany. The sun was kind to come out and warm the streets and while strolling through town I found a free concert in the city theater. So I know what I will be doing tonight.

Heute ist ein weiterer wunderschöner Sonntag in der Toskana. Die Sonne war gut gestimmt und hat wieder die Straßen gewärmt. Während ich so durch die Straßen schlenderte hab ich ein freies Konzert gefunden. Also ich weiß was ich heute Abend machen werde.
Die Bilder sind auf dem gestrigen Fotospaziergang entstanden. Die Farben von dem Kakibaum sind einfach der Hammer gewesen!
