Engagement Session - Alex & Marcel

One of my total favorite parts about my job is that I get to take it with me. On the road, where I travel. And as it happens for my weekend with le ragazze (my Itaian girls) in Munich it coincided with a lovely inquiry. It happened to be one of the more rainy weekends and for some time we where contemplating whether to risk it or not. Usually I would opt for a rain free day for an engagement session since I think this is the one day you can actually reschedule opposed to your wedding day where you have to rock whatever comes your way.
But since the travel days where kinda our restriction we decided to run with it and run we did. Call me strange but I actually love the overcast sessions so much! They have their own prose to it and the colors pop even more.

Having spent almost a decade side by side they decided to get engaged on a beach in Thailand.
Alex & Marcel, thank you so much for asking me to take your pictures. I loved it! I loved that you let me see your giggles and embraces!
I wish you all the best for your journey!

Oh today was glorious gorgeousness all around. Early in the morning I got up, still full with turkey & took the highway to Stuttgart to meet with these two lovebirds. There will be more to come of all the beauty & fall-love! Brace yourselves! This wonderful lady? Yeah, she is my new roomy. Am I lucky or what?

Have a wonderful weekend!!

E-session: Julia & Andre

My Würzburg friends had already noticed it... this summer I spent more weekends in Stuttgart than here. Sometimes even the weeks... and now I´m super duper thrilled to share my very first engagement session from a beautiful evening in the park. So we met up and sat down and only three minutes into the conversation we discovered that we are all from the same part of Germany! Don´t you just love it, when that happens? And then we talked some more and shared. They had met during the first week of starting their studies. Little did he know that this would lead to a not willing to let her go.ever.again. This first week marked the beginning of not only university. Just as they have faced the struggle of a first week, they also came to share a friendship across towns and countries. Finally working and living in the same city, sharing a life and sharing an engagement ring.
Dear Julia & Andre! I had such a blast getting to know you and seeing your happy and wonderful easy-going characters unfold in front of my lens! Thank you for this great time! I so can´t wait for your wedding in an English garden! Kill me! It will be awesomeness!

E-session: Christina & Jacob

In my head I was going through the last months of my Bavarian life. Was it true? Was this honestly the first engagement session I ever shot here? Man! I was thrilled as Christina contacted me with her news. Actually cross that out! I was leaping-off-my-chair, dancing-around, doing-Minion-moves-kinda-thrilled! Since Christina is not only a client but first of all a friend, well it took a lot to wait till she got back to Germany and start planning and not to call her directly abroad. She is one of my steady friends and go to´s whenever things get rough and atmosphere feels tooo stuck in the south of Germany. She is one of my international peps. No where settled, everywhere at home. She an Jacob go way back, as in almost a decade of together. Of facing living in different countries spanning all across Europe. Of getting through it all and of always sticking together. My year in Tuscany was their year in London. So this passion for a town on the big isle was a very wonderful theme to plan our shoot around. I was absolutely happy how colorful and happy and lively this time with them turned out to be.

Thank you for the joy and the trust and the honor of documenting your love! I can´t wait for the wedding next year! Ah, even more of this goodness! <3

Sarah & Seppi

For this post, like for no other, I have no good words to start. No funny idea how to put in words all the things which rush through my head when I think of Sarah & Seppi. You see, Sarah and I have been roomies. And as it sometimes happens with roomies, we grew closer than I would have thought and without me noticing it Sarah became a fixture in my German live. I looked forward to her coming home very late and hearing her subtle knock at my door. I looked forward to you know... just a couple minutes turning into hours of wonderful conversations. I looked forward to Sundays, because sometimes Seppi would come over and we would have the longest Sunday breakfasts which could ever be. Sometimes he came even the night before because, you know,  there are so many things to talk about. Sometimes he made bread, sometimes we made cookies. When I think of Sarah, I think of hours spent in the kitchen, usually talking. Or bumping into her on my way to the kitchen in the morning... between the doors and in the hall and all of the sudden 45 minutes have passed.

Laura & Jakob

 We met on a misty Monday and our  shooting started with a Mini-van trip up the vineyard. I had already heard stories from this wonderful antique car and was very happy that Laura and Jakob decided to bring it along. I was even more happy about a very gorgeous pair of red boots (yay) and a wonderful combination of very dark and elegant blue. It´s like they wanted to make me tremendously happy with my brand colors. :)

Engagement session ~ Conny & Daniel

I remember it well. It was one of my favorite days in November. I got up and thought to myself, today you´re going to live your dream. In the morning I met a dear friend from Texas and we talked about the funny turns of life and how we both started working in the wedding industry. And then I hurried back home to met up with this most lovely couple for a late autumn engagement session! Oh my!! Those colors! Totally in love with this color-bursting  shot!

Announcement

As some of you might have noticed, I vanished for ten days from the blogosphere. Busy trying to figure out my new place and life in general.  The exciting days of settling back in or starting new.

But today I wanna share something else with you:

Engagenment Session M+L

Meet my lovely roommate back from Germany! They asked me to do their engagement pictures some time ago in spring. So we took a stroll altogether in the vineyards above our town and shot till the sun set. It was a really nice session, with friends, wonderful light and did you notice the two blues? I love how their outfits match, they say It was “accidentally” I don´t think so ;-)

~ Enjoy the beauty!

PS, which one is your favorite? Why don´t you leave a comment?

~~~
Meine ehemalige Mitbewohnerin aus Deutschland hatte mich im Frühling gefragt für sie und ihren baldigen Mann eine Verlobungssession zu machen. Also sind wir zusammen durch die Weinberge über der Stadt geschlendert und haben bis zum Sonnenuntergang rumgealbert. Es war eine super entspannte Session, einfach mit Freunden, schönem Licht und hast du die harmonierenden Blautöne bemerkt? Ja, die zwei meinten es wäre Zufall, ich bin mir da nicht so sicher. ;-)
PS, welches ist dein Lieblingsbild?
How to wrap a bride
~ Laura + John´s Winter Wedding ~
Time with the girls and the joy of getting ready.
Looking at the pictures and browsing through my memories it is almost too hard and beautiful to pick a beginning to share. I meet Laura in my hometown a couple of years ago and she is one of the persons very dear to my heart. Despite the distance of the very big ocean between us. Because, yes, Laura lives in the States, more specifically in Oklahoma… not exactly the next weekend trip. As I made her acquaintance in my church I would have never dreamed that I would one day travel to her wedding. She is a very special friend with whom I have shared my fair share of deep, sincere and most silly-laughter-filled conversations. I love this mixture. As she wrote to me and broke the news about getting married to the man she loves, I immediately told her I will come, no matter what. And this is what I did. Every time when I meet Laura again, I recover this phenomenon, that no matter how many months, or years ago we met the last time in person, I warm up to her in the blink of an eye. After half an hour it is as if we were never separated for such a lengthy time, we laugh and make jokes like it were yesterday. That is what I love about her. And she is smart. She probably speaks better German than I do. She has a passion for German in the way I am passionate for the English language. She is utmost beautiful and I think she should give the modeling thing another try. Honestly Laura, I do!
Did I say wrap a bride? Oh yes. Laura had this amazing Vera Wang dress with a cute, rose bow and now as the wedding day came near, it was my task to wrap her. Yuppie. First time ever I wrapped a bride! We had practiced this already for the bridal shooting (and one time before that, when it has to be right…) and on the day of her wedding it was my turn to warp her up as beautiful as I could. Now this was the one moment I did not take pictures of from all the precious preparation time ;-)
Laura thank you for having me so close around you all the days before the wedding and especially for your BIG day. We really spent every day together and I still marvel at John´s patience. I was even in the happy state of being able to wake the bride – really – when do you ever get to wake the bride and sing “ Oh what abeautiful morning”, “You are getting married today!”I don´t say that I did that… Oh yes I did. Haha. Such fun! I could write more. A LOT more. Laura, thank you for all the intimate insights in your wedding, I was truly honored to be at your side, to hold your hand, to tell you how beautiful you looked and share all these moments. It was breath taking!
I mentioned I was with the girls from the dawn of day, so I will dedicate this post to the getting ready part of the wedding. The rest of the princess-winter-wedding is coming really soon. Promise.
Laura ~ Bridal shooting
One of the truly great pleasures of my stay in Oklahoma was that I got to photograph my very first bridal session. Laura, my dear friend I came to visit, asked me to join her for the session at the wedding chapel. So I had not only a great time to spent with my friend, but also to meet a new photographer, Lee Davenport, who was soo kind to let me join him and learn from him and of course I got to check out her cute chapel before anybody else. So for me only good things came from this cute shooting. I enjoyed every minute of it! I knew that Lee had all the good and classical shots, so I took my time, jumping around the chapel, climbing on the benches and crawling on the ground, finding new angles and playing around. This was an awesome bridal shoot. I hope there are many that will follow. I will try to import this cool session to the german and Italian wedding world. :-)
Eines der wirklich großen Vergnügen meines Aufenthaltes in Oklahoma war meine allererste Bridal session (Ein Shooting nur mit der Braut). Laura, meine Freundin die ich hier besuchte, hat mich speziell für dieses shooting angefragt und auf meine Ankunft gewartet. Ich hatte eine großartige Zeit mit ihr. Ich konnte die Bekanntschaft von Lee Davenport machen, dem Hauptfotografen der Hochzeit, der mir die Möglichkeit gab, neues zu lernen. Ich hab jede einzelne Minute des shootings genossen. Da ich wusste das Lee alle schönen und klassischen Bilder machte, nahm ich mir die Freiheit durch die Kapelle zu hüpfen, auf die Bänke zu steigen und auf dem Boden rum zu rutschen, um neue Winkel und Ideen auszuprobieren. Ich hoffe es werden noch ganz viele dieser Bridal shootings folgen und ich werde versuchen diese Mode in der Hochzeitswelt in Deutschland und Italien zu verbreiten ;-)
Engagement Session Quickie - B+M
Here are a couple of my totally favorite pictures from the Session quickie I captured with my friends in october, in germany. Why quickie? Well, because, I basically stole those two, newly engaged, from the last weddings party and said, ok, here is the gorgeous sunset light, we have ten minutes. Are you in? Then run to the field, I get my other lenses. So that is basically what we did. She was one of my roommates back in Germany and I wanted to give her that, as an engagement gift. As I saw the result of these short and very funny minutes I was overwhelmed by the beauty and their cute love for each other. I hope you enjoy their beauty as I do.
Ps, no worries, the normal e-session will take a bit longer ;-)
~~~
