This weekend I was lucky enough to have a weekend in Stuttgart & a wedding trade show right around the corner from my house. 
So many times my couples have asked me about recommendations for wedding vendors in the Stuttgart area. So many times I had few tips to offer and now was the perfect weekend to change that.

I love helping my couples plan their day & alway offer tips for planning and organisation with excitement. What I love even more is recommending services I myself like (a lot). So I set out with my wonderful couples in mind. Searching for what they need and for what I would like.
  

Q&A - Wedding Albums - For those who plan

Today I thought is a good day for some Questions&Answers one of the more frequent questions we get asked by our couples during and after the wedding planning process.

Today I will share the arrival of my very first studio album. Could not be more thrilled about how pretty it is! 

Do we offer wedding albums?

The simple and beautiful answer is yes, we do. :)

Mint wedding decoration - For those who plan

Here is a post for those who plan.

Occasionally I get asked about good ways to incorporate personal style in a wedding day. There are so many splendid ways to do that! My tip is to focus on one or two things that are important to you, that is part of your journey as a couple. Limit your color scheme to three colours which brings more calmness into the decoration. Let the schemes and elements reappear in different places.

To show you one wedding which I fell in love with this May I selected my favourite details shoots from Sarina&Tim´s wedding. 

Sarina is a designer & takes great delight in arranging details.

Their most prominent color was mint. Oh yeses! I loved it like nuts! She had many great & also inexpensive ideas and I don´t want to hold them back any longer ;)

What to do with rain on your wedding day

This is a question I get asked a lot for the early spring and late fall weddings... but due to the rainy start which July has provided us here in Germany I thought it is good to answer this question on the Blog. First of all; I love it when couples ask questions. And this one is a good one especially in Germany ;)
Second of all; bad weather is usually not that bad and there are so many creative and fun ways to work with it.
So here are some of my ideas to make this work for your special day.

1) Ask your photographer about the Plan B before the wedding
All the photographers I know are so very happy if clients ask them for advice. We love being part of the day and share what we know. A lot of the planning are small things, but they come in handy when thought of before the day, should the not so good weather strike your day. ;)

2) Plan for back up locations
This one goes along side the first hint on the list. There are many beautiful outdoor but roofed locations you can shoot in. It is always good to think of them ahead. For example hotel entries, porches, hotel lobbies, rooms with large windows or wide staircases will do as well.

Get inspired ~ 

We sat on the white floor, I had a couple of magazines in my hand. I was visiting and together we browsed ideas. She had gotten engaged just recently and from the tingling, new excitement we were trying to narrow down some ideas. In the process the turned to me and asked, where do you even begin? Where do you look when you want to do things different? Maybe you, dear reader, don´t necessarily need different but simply personal. Something that reflects you and your loved one.
So here are some ideas I came up with.

Where to begin ~ 
One of the things I always ask couples to prepare for an engagement session is: What are things you like to do together? Think about activities which you like to do with your spouse, passions and hobbies you share. Maybe there is a sport you share, a country you both love.
This is usually a great starting point to collect some creativeness around. :)

The search ~
Once you have found a starting point or a theme, a color, a hobby it is really great to dive into online searching. There are literally tons of wedding Blogs out there! So here I will draw on a very limited selection of Blogs I read regularly... if you would like more on the topic, let me know and I can fill a different post with this :)
The first Blog I kindA fell in love with was Green Wedding Shoes. It is full of outfdoorsy love affairs and filled to the brim with DoItYouslef ideas. Another incredibly good source of inspiration is Grey Likes Weddings. It has weddings categorized by colors and themes, do I need to say more? And to round of my almost weekly check list there would be Style me Pretty, a must for chick and stylish ideas all around the biggest day EVER.

What to wear ~ For those who plan

What to wear for a portrait session?

One of the things I truly enjoy about my sessions is the part of planning. Just recently a client asked for some outfit tips and I was very eager to help her out with a couple ideas. So if you would like to meet up for a portrait shoot, an engagement shoot or any other shoot with me or another photographer, here are my thoughts on the topic.

1)      Wear something you like. I think it´s absolutely crucial for the outcome of the images that you feel good in your outfit.

2)      Bring on some color! I loooove to see some color in outfits, they make the best images EVER. Even on the most overcast day some strong colors make most images pop. If you opt for a couple session I recommend not to over match the outfits. Who can truly say that they wear the same shirt and pants as their partner? 

3)      Prepare more than one outfit. I love me some change during the session and I always ask my clients if they would like to have an outfit change. This of course is optional. But I would soooo badly love to see someone going wild with their outfits.  For example: outfit no 1. Classy, elegant outfit no 2. Sportive, relaxed.

4)      The last advice is a very personal one. I do not like to limit the choice of anybody but I would avoid clothes with these really thin stripes… they make your eyes all fuzzy and the image not exactly quiet. I also do not like huge prints, again a personal preference, since I think they take attention away from the main object, which is you.

For those who plan - Colors

Yesterday I was quite upset. After reading the third photographers blog in a row who had been talking about the beginning of autumn. NOO!! Not yet. Just because Starbucks was about to launch their famous pumpkin spice latte. No thank you, it´s the middle of august! The same yesterday, I was taking Mara for a walk and as we were about to turn into our street I spotted it!
