Short trip ~ Côte d`Azur

The one thing I actually and truly missed in my wonderful, crazy-laden-with-newness past year was more time in the south. Since I moved back to Germany in 2012 I often missed the southernness of Europe. I took immense joy in surrounding myself with friends from Italia and Spain and other warmer places. Just after summer had come and gone I realized I did not take a lot of days of to travel. I remained in Germany for what seemed a small eternity and was determined to make this a very intensive study-my-art session in my life. Which was very good. 

E-session: Sarina & Tim

I remember the night... it was a Christmas service a couple of winters ago. And I remember Sarina being on stage. Singing with the band, welcoming... sharing, granting us one of her quiet smiles. A winter day long ago. What I did not know was that the second she had turned to face the microphone one heart in the crowd had stopped. It was the night Tim´s live had changed for sure. And honestly? Who could possibly blame him? ;)

What an incredible honor to have seen this miracle of friendship unfolding in front of my eyes? I feel so lucky to call you two friends. To have Sarina staying over every now and then. To brainstorm the cheer creativity out of our brains. To laugh and share this adventure called live. Did I already mention Sarina is my graphic designer? Oh yeah, brace yourselves!

DIY calendar ~ fun organizing tool

New year, fresh start... but uhm! How do I get all these wonderful new adventures organized? That is what I was wondering last year a couple of times. Because, lets face it... I´m messy. Yeah, not cute messy, but ugly messy... I loose overview, get panic attacks to the point I wanna pull the cushion over my head and not move anymore, I might cry and call my Mamma... it ain´t pretty. So I came up with a new idea. In order to keep my tasks in check and to keep the overview, I actually need to see my appointments. I mean I have a planner, I have a google calendar, I have infinite number of post-its... but all it was no good. TILL I came across this WONDERFUL DIY calendar.

 ~ It´s not only good looking (yeah I am such an artsy) but helpful.
~ It can be adjusted to every month, week. Scribbled on.
~ It has a color palette.
~ AND a cute frame.

Short: it is perfect.

First Monday & Preview

Hello first Monday of 2014!! How great is that? To have a fresh start?

I´m so curious what the new year holds, to see where it will take me, what I will learn and all the gorgeousness unfolding.

I just got back from a very spontaneous short trip to the south of France & north Italia, oh and a bit of Monaco in between ^^. Yeah, I definitely felt like I need some sun to start this year properly. You know, ever the southern Europe addict. ;)
I hope you had a likewise pleasant start and are ready for new things to come.
Not quite sure if I´m truly ready, with the notepad next to me, my planner opened and mails waiting for answers. But hey, I will never know, if I don´t try. I have the feeling this year is going to be huge, to the verge of overwhelming. Many new adventures are on the list, the written and unwritten ones. But if there is one thing I know, it´s that I cannot wait for wedding season to start again. I so cannot wait for each and every single wedding day coming my way, for the wonderful clients I will meet, for the beauty unfolding and the moments spilling over.
This I know.


So here is to moments. To a new year. And for being in this journey together.

Meet: Rieke & Lukas

It was one cold and gray December day. We decided to met and give this weather a try. I had assured this cute couple that the high humidity will be beyond awesome in the images. Scrolling through their portraits I´m overwhelmed with the beauty, with  the cozy flair, with embraces and giggles. Just marvelous.

As Rieke contacted me she mentioned that I would be the first person to take pictures of them as a couple. What an honor! Thank you for your trust. For this incredible fun time and for facing the cold fearlessly and with gracious poise.

Walking in the mist ~ first mini workshop

On my shy and quiet list of silent dreams this year, there was this one item. Yeah, it contained paying forward some of the many things I had learned and soaked in, in this photography industry. I was shy about it because I thought I had not learned enough, did not know enough. Just not enough to give it and to explain, might even teach. SO this inquiry came the at right time. I knew the group and peeps and somehow this helped to overcome the insecurity. So one misty Saturday not long ago we met up, walked outside, explored with the lenses in front of our eyes. Of course these ninety minutes were way to short. But it was lovely. It was great to give something. It was a start!
I hope there is more to come. From giving and paying forward. From learning from each other.

So here are some of the favorites from walking in the mist. In the dark and gray. From winter in Germany.
If I might be honest I thought this was a very poetic kind of gray. Of dark and of making other colors pop beside the settled dust on the lake.

Juliane ~ Portraits

Today I´m most happy to share some images from my friend. You could call her sunshine. I call her my brain. She has the ish together, while I tent to forget things. Together we have a bible study group at our local Christ Crusade group and honestly I think we have the most fun of them all. Whenever we meet up for preparation it is usually laughter and giggles and chuckles from beginning to end.

Juliane is the one who introduced me to DespicableMe. Which means I owe her big times. As in forever. hihi.
